Covert art on Android Auto?

Hello...
I am wondering if its possible to get cover art to display on Android Auto in my 2020 Mazda 3.
Covers display fine in the app on my phone, and the app itself works fine with Android Auto, but the cover art doesn't display (only the generic grey CD background).
Is there a trick to getting covert art to display, or is it just not supported?
