Pixel 6 playback issue and no lockscreen

When playing music the audio stops after a track is completed. The next song is being played, just no audio. The only way to restore audio is to rewind the song with the slider or advance / skip back to another track.

The lockscreen also does not function

Phone is Android 12 pixel 6pro.

Going to settings > audio and disabling the gapless playback fixed this issue for me on my Pixel 6.

I just got a Pixel 6a and turning off gapless playback fixed the issue for me.

This issue is fixed with Android 13 - no problem also when gapless option enabled
