Album tags not working or editing even when using separate program to edit them

Hello, I've had this strange issue for a while now where any album I change any of the tags in will not save. I have tried granting read/write permission in the app settings to my music folder, even editing all the tags on my computer, yet they still do not group properly. Each individual song shows the artist, album name, and song name when I go into "edit tags", but they still do not show on the song. If I go to the full album and try to edit all the tags, other than the album name none of the tags show up.

I have the same issue. I cannot 'Edit Tags' on any songs or album. I get 'Failed to edit songs'.
This issue is not present on my Android version 7 but is present on my Android version 14.
I believe this has something to do with the Android file system security upgrades that occurred several versions ago.
There are several Android v14 permission screens that pop-up asking if PlayerPro can have access to the file system (Music folder).
Android v7 has no such permission requirements. I cannot find a workaround at this time.
