Save settings options

Postby utahman1971 » Mon Jan 14, 2019 10:36 pm

Export and Import of settings, just in case something happens to phone and have to reinstall the app. Poweramp has this and I moved over to PlayerPro, which I love for the sound. There is as far as I can see no option to save settings on the app for this. Please, add it or let me know if it is there.

Yes., it would be nice to be able to backup playlists too. My understanding is that they're supposed to be backed up but I keep losing songs off of mine and I think a way to force a manual backup would eliminate that issue.

It seems that once we get a certain Number of songs the database wants to corrupt. If I can manually backup my playlist once a month it would be really nice. Right now I'm using a separate program to do this and it is helpful but it sure is a lot of trouble. It won't even back up to the SD card so to prevent losing my backup settings in a hard reset I have to manually transfer the back up to the SD card.

Something built into player Pro sure would be nice. Prefer cloud backup to maybe Google Drive as well as SD card backup

Hello,

Playlists are indeed automatically backed up in the following folder: internal sd card / PlayerPro / Playlists.
An option to manually backup/restore the playlists (with option to select the backup/restore folder) might be added in the future.

Thanks,
Tristan

Hi.

Unfortunately, only basic playlists are stored there—a 2 foot rope for a 10 foot hole. Can we have smart play lists stored there as well, please. And no not the list of tracks but the rules file.

For backup purposes, use another app. Try Helium, Titanium, My Backup Pro, or similar. To backup the settings of other apps require root, or a PC sister app. Also Google can auto backup your data all together. It is suited best for lost devices or new purchase switches.

Didn't I ask about settings backup, not playlists? How did playlists get into this? First post has no mention of playlist from me. Surprised a year later and still not recognized as what I was even asking.

Took me a while but I was using Poweramp until I decided to install PlayerPro again today, and found that I needed to login to Google Drive first then backup. That was what this thread was for but nobody said anything about the settings backup at all in here. Just talked about playlists only.

Hello,

You can indeed backup settings automatically (or manually) once you have connected PlayerPro to a Google Drive account (Settings / Google Drive account).
To backup/restore Settings, go to: Settings / Misc.
You can also backup/restore music stats (ratings, play counts, skip counts, and last played date): Settings / Music library / Music stats.
You can also backup/restore playlists: Settings / Music browsers / playlists

Cheers,
Tristan

Hi,

I really like and appreciate the option to backup settings in apps - and so also in PlayerPro.
But I dont want to use Google Drive (or other cloud providers) :-)

What do you think of an option to backup settings just locally on a selectable path?!

Thanks and bye...
